Your videos are often the first thing a coach will look at, so make them count.
Instead of uploading similar routines over and over, show the full picture of who you are as a dancer. Include a variety of styles such as:
Technique
Pom
Jazz
Hip Hop
Contemporary or Lyrical
Game Day performances or combos
Specialty skills or tricks
Just as important as what you upload is how you upload it.
Before posting a video, ask yourself:
Can a coach immediately identify me? Avoid videos where you're one of twenty dancers on the floor and coaches have to guess which one you are. If you do upload a group performance, make sure you're easy to spot or mention where you're standing in the video description.
Is the video clear and good quality? Blurry, dark, or shaky videos make it harder for coaches to accurately evaluate your technique and performance quality.
Can coaches see my entire body? Whenever possible, upload horizontal (landscape) videos. They give coaches a much better view of your lines, technique, spacing, and overall movement than vertical videos.
Remember, coaches aren't watching just one dancer, they're often reviewing hundreds. The easier you make it for them to evaluate you, the better.
